What you'll be doing here
Ōtautahi Aikido trains at the Ōtautahi Community Dojo in Heathcote Valley and was established in April 1991. The dojo teaches Buikukai Aikido in the Aikikai lineage, including aikido weapons. Founder and senior instructor Liam O'Donoghue holds 6th Dan Aikikai where current official information confirms; the New Zealand head of lineage is Junichi Nishimura Shihan, 7th Dan Aikikai. A few introductory classes are free and casual attendance is published, which makes the dojo unusually accessible to visitors.
